After thirty years as an evangelical protestant, I have come full circle to find that He has been there all the time, in the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. After his conversation, Luther professed and faithfully maintained the infallibility, inerrancy, and sufficiency of Scripture as God's Word. Luther certainly had some kooky interpretations of Scripture, but in the main he was true to the Bible. So be careful when asking that question. It would be to imply that Scripture is fallible or errant or insufficient. Luther leaned upon Scripture.
